Sempervivum globiferum 'Green Globe' |
Summary: When the dark November sky opens...
Usually very dark and gray November have offered couple of very nice and sunny weekends. Sunny and warm; jet very windy. Probably it takes strong guts to clear up the heavy rainy November skies.
Low light opens up a garden in completely new colours and perspectives. Dry seed heads of perennials and wavy structures of ornamental grasses add a new interest, especially if back lit. I love echinaceas and liatris now, also miscanthus 'Morning Light' looks wonderfully curly.
However, things are not looking so brown in my tulips bed next to house. Irises and buddlejas are still quite green and summery. Only berberis 'Orange Rocket' is showing bright autumn colour.
Sempervivums seem to be not minded by autumn, not what so ever. They only become little more compact and the colour might change a bit stronger and darker.
